Divisional Secretary Report October 2017

Issues around facilities time are getting better in that more schools have now bought back into the agreement leaving us now only £20k short and if we are able to get The Wessex Learning Trust to change their minds which I am hopeful of then this pressure lessens even more.

We have had policy discussion on tweaking grievance and redundancy procedures which should make them slightly more user friendly and we are expecting some bigger input into changes to the Sickness Absence policy which would prevent some of the more punitive approaches being taken as we have seen recently.

I have met with ATL section regarding training and will update all at the meeting and attended National training with Vicki in Leeds.

The pay claim for this year appears to be being adhered to although all need to stay vigilant to make sure that all schools, particularly academies, continue to co-operate.

Casework continues to be a pressure for all and there are the usual group of difficult cases but only one which may evolve into a dispute.

At the moment myself, Mick and Michelle are signed up to go to the lobby of Parliament during half term so clearly there are still places available.
